Our Value Proposition
Everest offers dynamic and exciting opportunities to work with complex, global organizations on some of the most challenging areas of their business. As companies face growing competition and increased market pressures, executives look to Everest to help develop optimization strategies, operational solutions, and sourcing strategies that streamline business operations for increased efficiencies that enable growth and reduce costs.
Value to Our Employees
Everest’s culture spans all three of our market facing organizations. A hallmark of that culture is our shared set of values, which includes mutual respect, global and individual diversity, and a focus on always doing the right thing. Through our focus on training, development, and advocacy, we create opportunities and options.
TRAINING
We take a multi-faceted approach toward training, using a combination of formal and apprenticeship training. Apprenticeship occurs in team settings where junior and senior team members work closely together. Oversight for consultants is provided by project Engagement Directors and Partners who have a vested interest in mentoring consultants through the phases of their careers. Similarly, researchers receive hands-on coaching from Research Directors and Vice Presidents of Research. Our team environment operates in a culture where new members work with intellectual peers from the first day they join us and where each team member has an obligation to dissent, which gives rise to meaningful debate and rapid development.
Formal training occurs on both regular and ad hoc bases. Monthly WebEx events cover topics of interest and value to team members across the organization, while ad hoc training events target specific learnings or specific roles within the firm. Our annual global training event provides not only general and focused breakout sessions targeted at professional development and industry knowledge but also provides for important bonding as individuals from around the globe share the experience together in a common location.
DEVELOPMENT
Supplementing and supporting our training programs is our focus on professional development, with a robust performance management process at its core. Consultants are formally reviewed at the conclusion of each client project or, if the project is lengthy, no less frequently than every 90 days. The reviews target critical criteria such as problem-structuring and -solving, client impact, managing, and professionalism. Mid-way through the year, each consultant and researcher receives a semi-annual review designed to provide mid-course feedback, a foundation for understanding strengths and development opportunities, and to recommend personal development initiatives and firm-sponsored development plans.
ADVOCACY
Advocating for team members are Development Group Leaders (DGLs) and Office Managers. DGLs personify the values, aspirations, and capabilities of the firm and help engage, cultivate, grow, and coach team members. They offer professional development advice and represent individuals during the semi-annual review sessions. Office Managers actively plan staffing assignments, business development opportunities, and research initiatives in a way that develops each member of the team. They provide advice and guidance as to how individuals can best contribute to the firm while developing themselves to their full potential, and they are available for counsel and assistance.
We offer our employees work in an exciting space where they can dramatically increase profitability and value for client organizations through operational strategies and related research, while maintaining a balance between their personal and professional lives. The nature of that work, in combination with our meritocratic approach toward advancing individuals at each one’s specific pace of development, accelerates the individual’s understanding of the industry and of the problems we help solve. And through those initiatives, our team members develop attractive options for the future – to pursue consulting, analysis, and leadership roles, either within Everest or externally.
