Eric Simonson
Managing Partner, Everest Research Institute
As Managing Partner of Everest Research Institute, Eric Simonson leads the organization and is responsible for developing it into the premier body for delivering actionable sourcing-related analysis and insight to senior management. Eric has over a decade of consulting and management experience, specializing in business strategy and market analysis. After over four years with Everest’s consulting organization, he assumed leadership for the Institute in July 2006.
Eric has expertise in the retail, packaged goods, financial services, energy, and manufacturing industries.
While at Everest, Eric has led consulting and research engagements for clients that include: developing an integrated sourcing strategy for the IT, HR, F&A, Procurement, Engineering, and other functions of a leading global manufacturer which identified over US$100 million in annual savings improvements; conducting a market analysis for a global software company of the typical pricing structures and service levels used in the HRO, FAO, and PO markets; assisting a US$12 billion global manufacturing conglomerate in outsourcing its IT infrastructure across six continents in a transaction valued at over US$1 billion; assisting a US$20 billion North American insurance company in outsourcing its legacy applications maintenance and development; remediating a US$250 million per year outsourcing relationship between a leading North American bank and a financial services BPO specialist supplier; and designing and implementing governance organizations for multiple clients, including both corporate outsourcing governance and governance of specific outsourcing relationships.
Prior to joining Everest Group, Eric was a consultant with McKinsey & Company for eight years, assisting leading companies with issues related to strategy, organization, and operations. His leadership and broad-based experience were critical to the success of numerous highly complex initiatives.
Eric has a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Science degree, both in Mechanical Engineering, from Texas A&M University.
