Daryl Lee

Chief Financial Officer

Daryl Lee, Chief Financial Officer, has more than 30 years of experience and insights in financial planning, business analysis, accounting, and business strategy. A Certified Public Accountant with “Big 4” experience, he is also skilled in due diligence, business valuations, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, and activity-based costing. He also focuses on such areas as negotiating supplier rates, improving cash flow, and increasing liquidity. Among other financial strategies during his tenure at Everest Group since 2007, he has identified opportunities for increasing productivity by implementing a “can do” Finance and Accounting team, reducing income taxes by analyzing foreign source income, leading implementation of a line of credit, collecting foreign income tax overpayments, and developing an internal transfer pricing agreement for the six countries where Everest has operations.

Prior to joining Everest, Mr. Lee was Vice President of Finance at Joy Foods (Dallas, Texas), where he created a cash forecast process and established a dashboard of key metrics. He also identified slow-moving inventory and implemented cost controls based on analysis of working capital, and he successfully raised capital to support business expansion.

At outsourcing service provider BancTec, Mr. Lee was Vice President, Finance & Business Analysis of IT Service Management. He led a team in finance, accounting, pricing, contracts, and database management. In addition to increasing revenue and profit through balance sheet analysis, he also worked with external auditors on complex accounting analysis, negotiated pricing and contract terms and conditions, performed merger/acquisition due diligence analysis and calculated business valuations. He prevented the SEC’s proposed restatement of a prior year’s financial statements and also negotiated a business-interruption insurance settlement by utilizing forensic accounting techniques. Additionally, he used activity-based costing to determine a strategic decision to disengage from an unprofitable line of business, prevented double taxation of cross border client revenue, and developed an event-based revenue recognition approach to recording revenue.

Mr. Lee held several positions at Xerox, including most recently, Controller/Business Planner and Controller/Financial Planning & Analysis. He developed a value-based pricing model that separated highly complex services from commodity services, evaluated and advised on business profitability, identified a solution to an expense budget overrun, and improved financial reporting and accounting operations while reducing costs annually. He also implemented a new accounting and finance shared-services operation that consolidated five general ledgers, accounts payable, and fixed-asset systems.

Early in his career, he served as a Senior Financial Analyst, Internal Control Specialist at General Electric and as a Senior Staff Auditor at Coopers & Lybrand (PricewaterhouseCoopers).

Mr. Lee has an MBA in Finance from University of Louisville and a B.S. in Accounting from Florida A&M University.
