Candidates joining Everest come from a vast array of professional backgrounds, including other top strategic management consulting firms, industry positions, and entrepreneurships. Important skills include proven quantitative, analytical, problem-solving and conceptual thinking skills, and we value industry/functional knowledge. Other critical capabilities include solid client interaction, a collaborative work style and strong interpersonal and team skills. Candidates should be self-motivated, organized, energetic and disciplined. A bachelor’s degree is required; however, many of our consultants have an MBA or other relevant graduate degrees.

Career pathing is extremely important to the success of the consultant.  The trajectory and timing of promotions is dependent upon your ability to gain knowledge quickly, understand the client’s needs, lead projects and teams and develop or coach others.  The summaries listed below give you a perspective on each role in the consulting career track at Everest.

 

STRATEGIC PROFESSIONALS

Consultants perform as individual contributors on client engagement teams, working under the supervision of an Engagement Director, to develop work product and act as a subject matter expert on consulting projects. Client engagement activities include but are not limited to framing issues, problem-structuring, optimizing client processes, developing go-to-market strategies, and change management.

Senior Consultants perform as individual contributors on client engagement teams, working under the supervision of an Engagement Director, to develop work product, lead specific project initiatives, and act as a subject matter expert on consulting projects. Client engagement activities include but are not limited to framing issues, problem-structuring, optimizing client processes, developing go-to-market strategies, and change management.

Engagement Directors are responsible for managing the day-to-day performance of client projects and are accountable to a Partner. Project management includes providing direction for the Everest consulting team and any client team members, developing thoughtful recommendations and advice for client executives, helping to professionally develop consultants on their teams, remaining alert to additional opportunities to serve their clients, and contributing to the development of the Firm’s knowledge and processes.

Associate Partners are responsible for managing multiple client projects through oversight of the project Engagement Directors, for delivering successfully on a specific intellectual property platform designed to prove their future capability as a Partner, for developing new client opportunities and nurturing existing client relationships, and for developing consulting talent within the Firm.  They are accountable to the senior leadership team of the firm.

Partners are responsible for client development, consultant staff development, project management, and intellectual capital creation.

 

EXPERIENCED PROFESSIONALS

Everest also hires functional area specialists to act as subject matter experts on our client teams. Specialists must have deep experience in outsourcing advisory services in areas such as, Finance and Accounting, Human Resources, Procurement, or IT.  We seek creative, committed individuals who possess strong problem-solving skills, embrace challenges as opportunities, focus on value and excellence, are self-aware and self-critical, enjoy people-intensive work and possess effective communication skills.

Specialist perform as subject matter experts on multiple simultaneous client engagement teams, working under the supervision of a project leader, leveraging their expertise in the outsourcing of specific functional areas and in creating, managing, and remediating outsourcing transactions.

Senior Specialist perform as subject matter experts on multiple simultaneous client engagement teams, working under the supervision of a project leader, leveraging their expertise in the outsourcing of specific functional areas and in creating, managing, and remediating outsourcing transactions.  Senior Specialists will periodically serve as the project leader for a client engagement.

Senior Specialists can have the opportunity to develop their career path into Associate Partners and Partners in the firm.
